To be honest I have no idea how it works, but I'm guessing you enter your e-mail into the box and Blogger automatically sends you new posts via e-mail. All that I know is that on my part, there is no extra work required so I don't think I would ever be privy to your e-mail address (for anyone who would be concerned about that).

I also added the subscription widget, which lets you add my RSS feed to a bunch of different RSS readers if that's your thing. I personally don't know how to use it (all this technology is really making me feel old...), but it's there if you do.

Cheers!Jen Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02627948857260467381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265336376897852083.post-76757570538679316202012-09-25T11:21:15.802-04:002012-09-25T11:21:15.802-04:00I have been away from the blogosphere for so long....I have been away from the blogosphere for so long. I'm not entirely sure on the species...Hi there!
I'm not entirely sure on the species, but they do form endomycorrhizal relationships, meaning the mycorrhizae are actually inside the root cell walls. The cell membranes are not punctured, but rather they form invaginations around the growing fungal mycelium (the "fungal roots"), which increases the surface area of the cell membrane, allowing for more contact points between the fungus and the plant for nutrient exchange.
There are two different types of endomycorrhizae: arbuscular mycorrhizae and "regular" endomycorrhizae. They are very different groups of fungi, but for gardeners essentially work the same way and have the same end result; the plant is healthier with them, and there are no mushrooms (or other forms of fruiting bodies) formed at the base of plants.
If you are thinking of adding some sort of garden additive with mycorrhizae to your plant, just make sure you fertilize sparingly. One of the reasons why plants "kick out" their mycorrhizal partners is because they can acquire plenty of nutrients on their own without them. And why bother having to share anything if you don't need to?!

Thanks for the comment!Jen Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02627948857260467381noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3265336376897852083.post-7636959134506257342012-09-18T14:31:01.837-04:002012-09-18T14:31:01.837-04:00Hi Jennifer,

I don't know if there's a sex bias, but I've noticed that men just plain old don't get it, while women are more likely to comment on the stench. Set in 12th century England during the conflict between King Stephen and the Empress Maude, Brother Cadfael is a former soldier turned Benedictine monk in Shrewesbury. He is an herbalist who also solves murders and often running afoul of the rules of the order. There are 20 novels in the series and volume of short stories which take place after the last novel. I do not have any copies availble for sale, but reading copies should be found pretty cheaply.Onnie Duvallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00714843671027983214noreply@blogger.com
